It's all just basically trying to get you to buy more stuff. The free video included is about 2mins long. I felt like this book missed a lot of information that is needed on the Network Plus that or it did not explain things enough in detail. I had to look at a lot of different resources to fill in the blanks.
That being said it is well written and easy to follow. I would use this book for some references later in my career if I have to. Mike Meyers and the publishers have come a long way in tuning the training. This is much better organized in a way the greatly helps me memorize that parts I need and ignore the rest. The testing tips show a lot of thought and the teaching aids, though a bit clunky and primitive do a good job at anchoring what you know so that you can remember it at test time.
One person found this helpful. I was able to answer all the chapter questions and practice questions on the included cd easily, but still had trouble with the test. I memorized so many standards, protocols, and details and the test was all troubleshooting and long scenarios that are only a small part of this book. Additional modules have to be purchased from Meyers site or from Comptia to get the practice and understanding that's needed.

The best way to measure study time is in hours though. I did abut 3 hours a day for 2 weeks. I will mention though, the content in it is near enough the same to the older book, which is considerably cheaper.
So if you were on a tight budget, you could buy the previous book for a fraction of the cost, and supplement the knowledge with Professor Messers free content online. The book is around pages long and has chapters covering every aspect of the exam including small sections that give you a little bit of history into the subject comptia network+ certification study guide sixth edition pdf download fully prepare you for real world use.
The book comes with a disk that contains practice exams questions and other little snippets of useful information. I ended up using this as more of a reference along side Mike’s videos that can be found on his website or Udemy, the book has a lot of detail and to be honest I wouldn’t want to read it cover to cover, but that’s just me.
I would also recommend when buying the exam voucher from CompTIA to get the deluxe pack which contains a retake voucher and also access to CertMaster which wasn’t overly helpful, but was a good tool to see what sort of knowledge I have or haven’t got!
